Panelists urged to prioritize needy students for Wings to Fly

Teso KNUT Branch chairman Alex Omoit has urged the panelists who will engage in the selection of students for Equity Bank wings to fly program to ensure they select students from poor families and not the rich.

He was speaking during the burial of the late teacher Phyllis Ikaate at Okuleu village on Saturday.

“I am appealing to the panelists who will participate in the selection of students to ensure they exercise transparency and accountability by giving needy students from the area first priority,” he said.

He urged parents to take care of their children, especially during the festive period, calling for banning of  matanga dance, which has led to many deaths among youths.

Teso North member of parliament Oku Kaunya who had also attended the burial on his part said Okuleu sub location will benefit from 115m electrification project to be rolled out soon, adding that over 100 students have been enrolled for training at KHBT at Rwatama village.
