“We are going to unite and forge way forward to support education development in this region,” he said.

The issuance of Education Bursary Fund cheques comes one week after University students from Maseno and Kisii who come from Bobasi Constituency gave the MP a notice of one week to release the funds or take him to court.

The occasion was attended by all MCAs from the constituency and Kisii County KUPPET Chairman Laban Ouko.

“We are wondering if there are enough classrooms to accommodate this calibre of learners if they will remain in primary school,” he wondered.

The chairman further asked the Government to clarify if these pupils will be domiciled in secondary school, and if so, it should to start train teachers who will handle them.

He advised Ministry of Education (MoE) to avoid keeping teachers in darkness until the last minute when they call them for hurried education policies implementation.
