Over 20 students teargassed in Nakuru during protests over missing fisherman

Good Samaritans rush Kimathi Secondary student to hospital when they were teargassed.

Over 20 students from Kimathi Secondary School in Nakuru Town East are receiving treatment at Langa Langa Health Centre after teargas lobbed on demonstrators protesting the disappearance of Brian Odhiambo entered into the school compound.

Police officers backed up by KWS officers engaged the protestors in a running battle for the better of the day.

Speaking to the media, some of the parents trapped inside the school compound said that the teargas affected some of the students forcing them to seek refuge from the school buildings.

Nakuru Town East Mp David Gikaria said that six days since the incident, no concrete response has been made and that they have engaged the investigative agencies who have informed them that six KWS officers were arrested and assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, irate members of the public set ablaze part of the Lake Nakuru National Park in retaliation over their beef with KWS who they claim abducted Odhiambo and have not produced him.
