A family in Nyamira is seeking justice for their 6-year old daughter who was defiled by an unidentified man in Bogwendo village in Kitutu Masaba constituency.
According to Callen Moraa, her Grade 2 daughter was sent to collect milk from their neighbor in the evening when the unfortunate incident occurred.
“When she returned home she was really quiet and went to sleep immediately. We thought that she retired to bed early due to tiredness as she had been playing the whole day,” she said.
When her grandmother noticed blood stains on her legs in the morning, she cornered her to tell her the cause of the mess.
The minor revealed that she had been defiled the previous evening when she went to collect milk.
They immediately took her to Manga Sub County Hospital where she was admitted.
The parents reported the matter to Manga Police Station and the officers began investigations.
The incident occurs in November when Courts in both Kisii and Nyamira counties are going on with sensitization campaigns on children’s rights and their protection.
