Over 500 ECDE teachers in Nyamira County who have been on contract terms for the last ten years have been confirmed as permanent and pensionable employees.
The letters were issued by County Public Service Board CEO Anne Mwasi.
“I first want to thank the teachers for rendering their services for a long time despite being poorly remunerated under contract terms,” she remarked.
Speaking in her office before releasing the letters, Mwasi said that the county government was determined to address the plight of the ECDE teachers who play a critical role in shaping and setting a firm foundation for children.
