A teacher from Nyagondo Secondary School in Siaya County Victor Odhiambo Akumu, is among the 27 coaches who graduated with a CAF C License on Friday, October 27, 2023, in Buruburu, Nairobi.
Reportedly, Odhiambo is now among the educators who have honed their coaching skills under the FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) Football for School program, initiated in July this year to enhance coaching in schools across the country.
He also mentioned that the Football for Schools program, aligned with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) priorities of Youth and Women’s Football, will distribute balls and equipment to selected schools nationwide through FKF.
“Teachers directly involved with school children stand to benefit from the Federation’s capacity-building programs,” Odhiambo noted.
“I ventured into coaching to create a conducive learning environment for school children to acquire comprehensive football knowledge and skills, reducing their fear of failure and increasing enjoyment,” he noted.
“We have numerous teams in Kenya, and with these teams come a multitude of coaches continuously seeking knowledge and skills to elevate the quality of football in the country,” Odhiambo stated.
