Gichugu Technical and Vocational College (TVC) has won two trophies in the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) Mt. Kenya West Region Season 3 Ball Games.
The institution, only two months old, had a total of 8 teams in the competition held at Nyeri Polytechnic, earning top honors in rugby for both men and women.
The tournament drew participation from 21 TVET colleges from the region with students competing in a variety of sports disciplines.
The institution’s management expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements, crediting their hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support from their coaches.
“This is just the beginning,” said Principal Joseph Kimemia. “We are committed to building a strong sporting culture alongside academic excellence, and these wins are a sign of greater things to come.”
He added that being a sportsman, he has been ensuring that his students practice in the evenings after classwork and the outcome has been impressive.
Gichugu TVC’s impressive debut in the KATTI Ball Games has set the stage for a promising future in college sports in the region.
