The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Officer, Dr Nancy Macharia, has returned to office after completing her one-month annual leave.
Dr Macharia, who is set to retire in June this year, will continue to carry out her duties until she proceeds on terminal leave by April, pending her retirement.
Ibrahim Mumin, who served as the acting CEO during Dr Macharia’s leave, will now resume his position as Director of Administrative Services.
Dr Macharia took over the role in 2015, following a competitive recruitment process.

Her term was extended for an additional five years in 2020.
Dr. Nancy Macharia took over the TSC from Gabriel Lengoiboni, who retired in June 2015, after emerging as the best candidate for the position.
Her appointment followed the conclusion of a competitive recruitment process that began on May 1, 2015, when the position was advertised. The process attracted 69 applicants, from which four were shortlisted.
Macharia is the ninth Commission Secretary/CEO in TSC’s history.
