The Narok County Government is set to distribute bursaries to school going students ahead of schools reopening in January.
Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, who led over 3000 residents in celebrating the 61st Jamhuri Day in Narok County, made this announcement to his residents earning himself a round of applause. His Excellency said that he had released 450 million shillings so that when schools reopened, students would already have a banker’s cheque ensuring fees went straight to the schools.
Governor Patrick thanked God for the good fortunes that have befell Narok since he was elected as a governor. He also thanked the Police Service and other security teams for maintaining peace and order in Narok Town especially in August, when wheat harvesting is done, saying it is the time when criminal cases surge in the county.
The governor urged the residents to register on SHA to allow them get assistance in curing recurring diseases like cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney related problems saying that the fee deducted monthly is pocket friendly.
Ole Ntutu mentioned that SHA was designed to help the most vulnerable citizens and is of great benefit to members.

He also launched the Governor’s Cup so that the youth are engaged during the long holiday.
Michael Koina, Chairperson for the village elders in Narok, who was also in attendance said they had ensured that security had been beefed up in Narok for the festivities. He thanked the governor for the work done and the launch of the Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu Cup to prevent the youth in engaging in drug abuse and harmful practices.
