Nandi Senator demands answers from TSC on interdicted teachers

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei

The Senator of Nandi Samson Kiprotich Cherargei has requested a statement from the TSC through the Senate Standing Committee on Education, on the interdiction of non-local teachers in the North Eastern region who have applied for transfers in alignment with the TSC’s teacher democratization policy.

He has also inquired about the number of pending transfer requests and their anticipated resolution dates.

The Senator further implored the Committee to address the safety concerns raised by non-local teachers, as evidenced by a surge in attacks and hostilities in their current duty stations.

“I to understand the reasons behind the delays in approving transfer requests, despite teachers’ compliance with all requirements, especially considering that local communities were given an opportunity to employ teachers,” he emphasized.
