Nakuru TSC director tips intern teachers on professionalism

Nakuru County TSC Director Japheth Kariuki has urged all JSS interns teachers to maintain high standards of professionalism while in their work stations.

Kariuki said this will lead to quality teaching and in turn quality education in all Junior secondary schools.
“Teacher Professionalism is the key for quality education both in theory and practical.

CBC is about competency which will enable the learners to acquire content through their learning process”, said the Director.

He reminded the teacher that after internship they will be recommended by their school heads to be employed on permanent and pensionable basis by the Teachers Service Commission.

“Interns with good recommendations will be given first priority when the commission will be employing teachers on permanent and pensionable basis.

Now they should use this opportunity to ensure they positively impact the learners through their work”, said Kariuki.

The Education Director also encouraged School heads to guide the interns, handle them as required and give them conducive working environment.

“School heads should be role models showing the correct way of duty performance in words and deeds”, said Kariuki

Kariuki also urged interns to join financial institutions like Saccos so that they can save for future prosperity.

“Our Interns should start learning to save in various saccos and financial institutions so that they can be financially stable.

Anybody who is financially stable can perform his duties without any problems because financial issues affect productivity of any profession”, said the TSC Director.
