Muhoroni MP clears fee arrears for Form 4 candidates

The National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) in Muhoroni, Kisumu county has disbursed bursary funds worth Ksh7 million to this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.

The Muhoroni NG-CDF Chairman Bernard Del said the funds are meant to help the Form 4 students who are to sit their final exams starting today to pay their school fees arrears.

Addressing residents of the constituency during the disbursement of the cheques at Nyang’oma Resource Center, the NG-CDF boss said that students who are in day schools have received Ksh4,000 each.

He said that 29 day schools have benefitted from the bursary, adding that more boarding schools are also set to benefit from the initiative.

Del said beneficiaries in boarding schools outside the constituency will receive their cheques as from next week.

The Chairman said the remaining students in Form one to three will get the bursary as from January next year.

Del asked that if the bursary is allocated to a student who has already paid school fees fully, then the funds should be channeled to needy students who are yet to pay fees.

The Constituency Development Manager Sospeter Ngere, who represented area MP James Onyango K’Oyoo, said the bursary disbursement will be of great help to needy candidates.

He said that students in public universities have secured bursaries worth Ksh16 million so far.

Ngere said that a technical college will be erected at Ngeny area in order to cater for students who have not qualified for direct entry into university.
