MPs’ campaign to retain management of NGCDF gains momentum

KMTC Malava
Malava MP Malulu Injendi. He has said the NGCDF cash should be retained by MPs.

Calls to have MPs to keep controlling the NGCDF continue to gain momentum as leaders reach out to their constituents to back the move.

Latest to add voice on the debate is Malava MP Malulu Injendi, who has warned of dire educational hiccups if the fund is withdrawn from their management.

Injendi, while delivering two school buses to PEFA Chimoroni and Friends Shamoni Secondary schools within his constituency, said the kitty has seen a lot of learners benefit and increased the number of school-going children in Malava.

Injendi, who serves in the education committee and prides himself as an educationist, warned that the move by the courts to move the kitty away from their management will not only have a negative effect on learning but will further contribute to the decline in number of learners.

“We have been managing this kitty and we have done so much through it in education matters. If it is withdrawn in 2026 as stated, then learning in the country will be dealt a deadly blow. I know some of you are supporting the idea to have it relinquished from our  possession but I tell you you will feel its impact once it is effected as many of you who have been beneficiaries will be left out,” he said.

The MP told the locals to support the legislators’ idea to continue managing the kitty for their benefit.
