MP raises concern over poor KCSE results among sub county schools in Keiyo North

Keiyo North MP Adams Kipsanai has expressed displeasure over poor performance posted by sub county schools in the constituency.

The legislator decried deteriorating performance in national examinations in county despite investment geared towards education saying most day schools registered poor results with an increase in students scoring E grades.

Speaking after holding an emergency meeting at Bugar Secondary School, Kipsanai called on education stakeholders in the county to put heads together in finding solution to what it termed as restoring past glory.

He promised to hold consultative meetings with stakeholders in a bid to understand the challenges facing the institutions and offer needed solutions.

“Declining performance in our schools is alarming. We had a meeting with stakeholders of these schools. We have put our heads together and try to correct many areas of concern. This time round we are going to work the clock to see that the future of our children is restored,” Kipsanai said.

On his part Keiyo North sub county commissioner Julias Maiyo issued a stern warning to people engaging school going student in distracting activities including boda boda business, timber harvesting and gambling.

“The national government administrative officers are directed that any student found in gambling areas such as pool should be arrested. Parents need to monitor their children closely to ensure that they attend school,” said the administrator.
