Bomachoge Borabu Member of Parliament (MP) Obadiah Barongo has called on Headteachers to shun dictatorial leadership and love their teachers and students by instructing and listening to them in equal measure.

Barongo further asked them to lead their lives with excellence and aspire to be a role model to students.

He was speaking at Ogembo town when he met the Kenya Primary Schools Heads Association (KEPSHA) Kenyenya branch for a consultative meeting on Thursday.

The MP affirmed the NG-CDF office’s commitment to working in partnership with schools and various government ministries to support education development in the area.

Barongo said that the approach was geared towards the provision of a platform that will enhance coordination of collaboration among school heads and other education stakeholders.

On their part, the school heads led by branch Chairman Hezron Onsoti thanked the MP for the initiative terming it as timely as teachers are preparing candidates for their national examinations.

They asked the MP to prioritize completing existing projects before embarking on developing new ones.

Onsoti, who was flanked by branch Treasurer Samuel Angima of Omobera Primary School, singled out the improvement of schools’ infrastructure as a priority to curb the congestion of pupils in public schools.

They asked the MP to reinforce co-ordination in his office to avoid duplication of projects.
