The Moi University Council is scheduled to meet with all staff today as the new acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Kiplagat Kotut, assumes the office.
An internal memo issued by the acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Khaemba Ongeti, indicates that staff will have the opportunity to meet the new acting Vice Chancellor.
The Council will be chaired by Professor Noah Midamba. Members comprise Prof Ronald Wasike, Dr Mercy Wambura Kanyara, Dr Edward Sambili and Anne Waceke Makori.

Prof Kotut succeeds Prof Isaac Kosgey, who has been placed on a compulsory eight-month leave, while the Head of Finance and Legal Affairs has been suspended.
Prof Noah Midamba, has expressed a commitment to revitalize the institution, which has been facing significant challenges.
The two Deputy Vice Chancellors, Prof Isaac Njuguna Kimengi (academic affairs) and Prof Kirimi H Kiriamiti (administration, planning and research) were also sent on a compulsory one-year sabbatical leave.
Prof Kotut stated that within 100 days, measures would be put in place to address the issues plaguing the second-oldest university in the country.
“We held a very productive meeting with the unions and agreed on the importance of working together to restore the University,” Kotut said following his appointment.
“Our mission is clear: To return the University to its original status as a world-class hub for teaching, research, and innovation.”
Recently there was Change of guard as Moi University got new Council.
