Moi Boys High School Kabartonjo has emerged as the champion in various sports disciplines after defeating all competing schools in the recently concluded Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term One Games at the sub-county level in Baringo North.
The institution’s unique experience in handball was evident as they easily beat Kapkirwok Day Secondary School and Kipcherere with scores of 27-3 and 17-10, respectively, earning a place in the semifinals, where they triumphed over Kapchepkor with a score of 26-2.
In the handball finals, the energetic defending champions, Moi Boys Kabartonjo, showcased their skill by overcoming Kipcherere with a score of 26-11.
In rugby, Moi Boys Kabartonjo also dominated Barwessa, winning decisively with a score of 27-5, thanks to successful tries and conversions.

Barwessa was eliminated from the tournament by Bartolimo Boys, who were then defeated by Moi Boys, securing a place for Moi Boys to represent the county with a final score of 14-8.
The school’s winning streak continued in basketball, where they knocked out Kipcherere with a score of 44-18 and Tiriondonin 52-2, ensuring their place in the semifinals, where they outshined rivals Bartolimo with a score of 46-13.
In the finals, Moi Boys tactically defeated Aiyebo with a score of 74-42, earning the title of Sub County Champions and the opportunity to compete at the county championships.
Speaking to Education News, the elated Chief Principal Samuel Akufa expressed his commitment to nurturing students’ talents and confidently predicted that the participating teams would succeed at the county championships.
The national championships will be held at Shimo La Tewa High School in Mombasa from April 5 to 13, 2025.
