The Ministry of Education will organise a seven-day series of county-based dialogues to address key issues impacting the education sector. The dialogues aim to engage stakeholders in discussions about the Competency-Based Education (CBE) journey, with a focus on its progress, achievements, and future opportunities.

In a statement the MoE said that the dialogues will take place in all 47 counties from March 9 to 15, 2025. The dialogues will follow a national launch in Machakos on March 7, 2025. The events will be facilitated by officers from the Ministry of Education, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

The MoE outlined the objectives and expected outcomes of these dialogues.

The main goals include updating stakeholders on the status of CBE implementation, creating a platform for validating Senior School guidelines, discussing teacher recruitment and capacity building, and collecting feedback on the CBE implementation process.

Expected outcomes include heightened awareness among stakeholders about the current and future direction of CBE, the validation of Senior School guidelines through public participation, valuable feedback on CBE implementation, and enhanced collaboration among education stakeholders to ensure the success of CBE.
