MoE invites applications for Special Needs Education diploma course

Kenya Institute of Special Education.

The Ministry of Education ( MoE)  is calling upon all serving TSC teachers wishing to be considered for the admission at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) for the two- years full time Special Needs Education (SNE) diploma in service course to access the application forms from the ministry’s website www.education.go.ke or from the nearest CDE’s/SCDE’s offices.

The areas of specialisation in 2024 are education of learners with visual impaired, physical handicap, mental disabilities, hearing impaired, Autism and education of learners with behavioural and emotional difficulties.

The application candidates are required to be below 50 years of age, holder of P1 certificate or P1 by promotion through the Teacher Proficiency Courses (TPC) has been serving Teachers Service Commission for the last five (5) years and be a Kenyan citizen.

Each applicant to present  themselves in person during the registration with the duly filled application forms in own handwriting except for visually impaired applicants, original and certified copies of academic certificate(s), original and certified letter of appointment by the TSC, original and certified copy of professional teacher training certificate, national Identification cards (both sides) or passport, coloured passport sized photograph taken within the last three months and original and certified copies of other relevant testimonies.

The applicants are advised to submit in person, their duly completed applications to sub-county directors of education by April 2, 2024, who will further remit them to Jogoo House latest April 19, 2024.

The successful candidates shall be informed on how to get their admission letters through the SMS.
