Ministry official assures Grade 9 rollout by January 2025

Baringo Central Quality Assurance and Standards Officer (QASO),  Dr. Thomas Mukabi, has assured that the government is set to roll out the Grade 9 class under the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) come January next year (2025).

Speaking during the commissioning of Grade 9 classrooms at Kiboino Primary School, the educationist said all schools within the region will all be commissioned and equipped before schools reopen January 2025. Dr. Mukabi said 45 classrooms have already been constructed in Baringo Central with additional infrastructure yet to be supported by Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

‘’ We have already retooled 270 teachers, who are now furnished with creativity and in the region and we are fully prepared to realize the quarter rolls out effectively. We urge education stakeholders to champion efforts geared to back education,’’ said Dr. Mukabi.

He said books have been equipped in all established Grade 9 classrooms, calling on learners to reciprocate government support by posting good grades.

School Head Teacher Mr. Kenneth Terer, lauded the ministry for playing integral role in realizing education in the area. While underscoring achievements of the ministry, Mr. Terer noted that school has produced good results.

He hailed efforts of the Board of Management led by Eng. Wilson Cheptinga, local leaders and alumni for transforming the school which in turn lead to the school posting the best grades.

School Chairman Wilson Cheptinga pleaded with the ministry to post more teachers in the school to address shortage of teachers.
