In an effort to prevent and control Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs), the Ministry of Health (MoH), in collaboration with the Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre (DMI), is providing PhD scholarships opportunities for officers in the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the county governments.
The scholarship, which is funded by the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF), is part of a government four-year project in integrating Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) prevention and control into primary health care.
The research scholarship, whose deadline for submission is January 31, is a full or partial tuition and aims to tackle diabetes and hypertension, diseases that have been termed as a global health concern by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Furthermore, the scholarship targets permanent employees of the MoH, including semi-autonomous government agencies in the MoH or employees of the County Health Departments.
