Meru County pupils receive full scholarships covering education, uniforms and food

Christmas has come early to some of the needy pupils and students from Meru County after they were issued with full scholarships covering education, uniforms and food by Tulivu Foundation; an initiative of Tulivu Water Company based in Meru county.

Speaking at Maraa Girls High School in South Imenti sub-county, Meru county, Tulivu Foundation Director Francis Mworia said the foundation has launched education scholarships for 27 pupils and students from the community in 3 schools the foundation is supporting.

“Am happy to launch and issue education scholarship cheques for the 27 needy pupils and students from the 3 schools we support as a foundation. Each cheque is worth Ksh. 27,000 “. Mworia said.

He said the full education scholarship covers; uniforms, school items, food that will be used in these schools and mentorship programs. Noting that the scholarship will also cater for education at universities and colleges.

“This full education scholarship will cover full uniform including shoes, school items, and food. We shall also have mentorship programs for the pupils and students”. Noted Tulivu Foundation Director.

He said the foundation has already launched Tulivu FC Football Academy which is aimed at nurturing young football talents from the age of 7 years to 18 years who are in schools.

“We want to admit 100 young footballers who are pupils and students in our various day schools in Meru county. The training will be based at Kinoru Stadium and we aim to nurture these young talents and give them a stepping stone where they can play their football internationally “. Said Mworia.

Mworia urged parents especially from Meru County to avail their children whenever clinics are called for before the end of this year so that the children can be enrolled in the academy.

He noted that the foundation is planning on expanding to other neighbouring counties of Tharaka Nithi and Isiolo to support Education and sports among the pupils and students.
