Matungulu MP Stephen Mule yesterday disbursed Ksh52 million bursary to needy students across the constituency that is going to benefit over 15,000 needy students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

The lawmaker, however, said the money will be issued in installments till June this year, attributing the arrangement to slow release of funds by Treasury.

“Today we have given out 18 million shillings, but by June we will have given out 52 million shillings because by then we will have received more money from Treasury,” said the lawmaker.

Mule also congratulated the sub-county for emerging number two in the whole county with a mean score of 4.3.

He urged all stakeholders to work together and improve the education standards, expressing readiness to actively participate and ensure improved performance in schools within the constituency.

“Even the professionals we have around should join in encouraging our schools. I want to see our sub-county top in the county with a good mean mark,” he noted.

He also disclosed numerous infrastructural projects which he is planning to embark on in various schools this year.
