The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has conducted a mass transfer of staff serving teachers from various field offices across the country.
Education News has learnt that nearly 1000 officers who include Human Resource Officers (HROs), clerks and secretaries were moved to new destinations in the exercise.
A well placed source at the TSC confirmed the changes saying the transfers were normal and were done to boost service delivery.
“Most of those officers had not been transferred from their station since deployment. If you overstay in one work station for so long, there is a danger of being complacent. Hence the need to do some re-engineering” said the TSC official who did not want to be named.
Education News has learnt that most of these officers were transferred outside their current counties while some were moved to new sub-counties but retained in the same County.
The officers perform various duties at the field offices especially in assisting Sub-County Directors, County Directors and Regional Directors to deliver on various teacher management functions.
