The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Maasai Mara University Professor Peninah Aloo Obudho has come to the aid of over 500 students of Leshuta Primary and Secondary schools in Narok West Sub-county who have been sleeping on the floor for the last four years.
Obudho said that she had visited the school and shed tears when she saw the situation the students were in, moving her to donate 162 double-decker beds, 300 mattresses, 100 bedsheets,100 blankets and 700 sanitary towels.
She also gave 4 solar batteries to Leshuta Primary and 100 assorted books, thanking the council members who accompanied her; Dr Susan Jebet, Prof James Nampushi, Prof James Mburu, Prof Stella Kirui, Beatrice Manyasi, Muhammed Adan and Jackson Masago, for their support and compassion.
James Yiale, Principal Leshuta Secondary, could not hide his joy when he received the donations, saying their performance shall greatly improve since the students will have a conducive environment to learn and promised to work hand in hand with the university.
