Malava constituency MP has come to the rescue of Teresia Primary School which has not received capitation funds since second term.
While commissioning an administration block at the school, MP Malulu Injendi assured the school, led by head teacher Lilian Inganga, that he shall pursue the matter at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Nairobi.
“Kindly forward your pupils’ Nemis details to the sub-county education office which should push them to the national office and I will pick the matter from there. I know this issue has been here and it saw your predecessor vacate the school prematurely but this time I will walk with you,” he assured.
Inganga noted that despite writing severally to the ministry through the sub-county office, the school is yet to receive the funds in addition to zero communication.
However, records at the head office stated that the school’s documentation was approved.

She said that many programmes at the school had stagnated due to lack of funds, and the school was surviving on inadequate funds from well-wishers, a matter that has led to low enrolment.
“Our most affected account is operational which pays our workers and daily running of school programmes. I have written to the Ministry who said that our Nemis register is okay but they never remit the funds,” the school head said.
Inganga said that the school is currently in need of a laboratory, teaching and learning materials and language teachers to handle JSS learners.
