Makueni’s Kiambani Mixed Day good performance in exams attracts increased enrolment

Despite being a day mixed school and situated at the heart of Makindu town, Makueni County, Kiambani Mixed Secondary School has attracted a large population due to its good and promising performance.

School principal Gilbert Kimani has said that been improving in the performance in national exams since it started in 2020. In 2022 they had one candidate who qualified for university out of 49 candidates.

The following year three qualified with a B minus and two C+, out of 97 candidates. Last year, there were 3 B plain, one B minus and C plus.

“Let me tell you, here we help the government in its 100 per cent transition to secondary school policy, there is no entry marks. However, considering the vices attached to where the school is situated, we try to mentor and counsel our learners to become the best,” Kimani said.

Due to this, the population has increased to 570 students as at now.

We look for sponsors for needy and bright students besides working with local leaders to support the needy.

With overstretched infrastructure, it has 11 teachers employed by Teachers Service Commission and 12 working under Board of Management (BoM).

Last year, Solo verse was number 4 in Eastern region and best in Makueni, five items in music proceeded to regional level among others
