Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) in Machakos County is set for a transformation, thanks to a significant boost from development partners.
The county’s ECDE sector recently received an impressive donation of plastic chairs, tables and cutting-edge computers, signaling a new chapter in enhancing the learning environment.
In a vibrant ceremony, Governor Wavinya Ndeti received these invaluable donations from key partners, including County Pension Fund (CPF), St Phillips Nelly Primary School, Equity Bank, and KCB.
Among the highlights of the event was a special donation from the Slovakian government, facilitated through its Embassy in Kenya, which provided 20 computers and two laptops.

Governor Ndeti expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely support, emphasizing how the contributions will revolutionize learning.
“This donation is not just about equipment; it’s about giving our learners the skills and tools they need to thrive in a digital world,” she said.
The initiative is expected to benefit over 42,000 ECDE learners across the county, setting them on a path to success.
Machakos County’s Executive Committee Member for Education, Consolata Mutisya, stressed the importance of the donations in her remarks.
She highlighted that 85 schools, selected based on their need, would be receiving the new resources.
“These computers will bridge the digital divide in our schools, ensuring that ICT integration becomes a reality even for the most disadvantaged learners,” Mutisya noted, stressing the long-term impact this will have on the future of education in the county.
