Machakos County comes to the aid of ECDE qualifiers for music festivals

Machakos County government through the Ministry of Education (MoE) has come to the aid of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) learners who will represent the county at the national level in the music festivals in Eldoret.

The over 20 kids  from Tala SA Primary School  had proceeded to the national level but the institution did not have funds to facilitate their journey as well as their stay at Eldoret.

Education County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Dr Consolata Mutisya in conjunction with the Education Chief Officer (CO) and other officials offered Ksh117, 000 to facilitate transport and upkeep.

Mutisya while speaking during the issuance of the token yesterday, urged parents to ensure their kids talents are identified and nurtured from an early age in order to build a bright future for them.

“We are grateful to the governor for this help, these children will be able to go to Eldoret and practice their talents and in future they will be great people because their talents are nurtured,” she said.

She also disclosed that the county feeding programme has ensured that students remain at schools adding that the ECDE population has increased from 3700 to 4200 since the beginning of the year.
