Lamu County Woman Representative Muthoni Marubu has disbursed bursaries worth Ksh2,355,000 to needy students from various secondary schools in the area.
While speaking to the students, Marubu reiterated her commitment to support needy students to pursue education.
The County MP cautioned the students from engaging in immoral behavior such as drug and substance abuse and engaging in premarital sex.
She regretted that the vices had forced many students to drop out of school.
Hindi, Witu Mjini, Maisha Masha Secondary School and Hongwe Integrated Primary School for Differently Abled Children were among the many schools that benefited from the bursary kitty.
