The Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KUSNET) has instructed its members to report to work on Monday, August 29, 2024 when schools reopen.
This is after the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) accepted to implement the second phase of the amended 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
This has been revealed by the union Secretary General James Torome who spoke to Education News after a meeting with the teachers’ employer this afternoon, adding that TSC has accepted to pay the second phase of the CBA in arrears.
The Commission had invited the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) and KUSNET for a meeting today at the Kenya School of Government in last-minute efforts to stop the looming teachers’ strike set for Monday when schools reopen.
