The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has maintained that the strike set for Monday is still on as planned.
In a statement dated today August 23, 2024, the union Secretary General Akello Misori noted that the union will continue to mobilize its members towards its success.
“The KUPPET National Executive Board has met today to review development regarding the nationwide teachers’ strike scheduled to start on Monday August 26, 2024. The meeting resolved that the strike is on as planned and the union will continue to mobilize its members towards its success,” said Misori in the statement.

The KUPPET boss further noted that the union National Governing Council (NGC) will meet this Sunday August 25, 2024 to review the developments made in regard to the strike, calling on all union branch officials to continue mobilizing members to attend the Sunday prayers.
“The union National Governing Council is convened on Sunday August 25, 2024 to further review developments and progress towards the strike. The union branches have been asked to mobilize all teachers to attend religious services countrywide on Sunday August 25, 2024 to offer prayers and arm themselves for successful industrial strike,” said Misori.
