The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has condemned the incident where a candidate was stabbed to death in Nakuru.
Kericho Branch Executive Secretary Mary Rotich termed the incident as worrying, raising questions concerning students’ safety while in school.
Speaking in Kericho town, she rooted for the training of security personnel, noting that such acts could spread if urgent preventive measures are not urgently put in place.
“The incident at Shiners Boys High School is worrying. As a union, we want elaborate measures, which include training of security of personnel so as to prevent such acts in future,” noted Rotich.
Rotich underscored the need for vigilance, further urging parents to be good examples to their children and on the forefront in teaching them about responsibility.
Rural Women Peace Link Director Mary Chepkwony echoed the sentiments, noting that the culprits ought to have been separated, given that they had been suspended on disciplinary grounds.
