Kenya Technical Trainers Collage (KTTC) won world award for the best Teacher Professional Development category at the World Federation of Collages and Polytechnics (WFCP) awards held in Montreal Canada.
In the events that kicked off on April 24 and elapsed on April 25, KTTC won a bronze award with Chisholm Institute, Australia and NPTC Group of Collages from United Kingdom winning Gold and Silver awards respectively in the category.
“Our awards of excellence acknowledge the greatest talent the world has within technical and vocational education.
“From our institutional and individual and individual award winners we bring together a Best Practice Guide in the spirit of sharing and learning and inspiring others to put their organisations leaders and teams on a global stage,” said WFCP Board Chair, Dawn Ward.
At the same time, Nairobi TTI won Bronze for Applied Research and Innovation award in the category which saw Holmesglen Institute, Australia bang the Gold award and Instituto Federal de Sao Paulo, Brazil win the silver award.
The events in the congress were; outstanding student achievement award, outstanding educator award, lifetime achievement award, leadership in diversity and inclusion award, tourism and hospitality award, teacher professional development award, sustainable development goals award, strategic leadership award, indigenous education award, global citizenship award, cyber and data security and social engineering award, construction award, and applied research and innovation award.
WFCP is an international network of collages and associations of collages which aims at providing leadership in delivering workforce education for the global economy and members share leading-edge education strategies and best practices to increase workforce employability in countries around the world.
At the same time, Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) bagged two gold awards in Sustainable Development and Lifetime awards.
