Aldai MP Maryanne Keitany has assured that the construction of the Koitalel Samoei main campus in Nandi Hills will be completed soon.

Keitany observed that the advanced tendering process had allocated funds for the project.

According to the legislator, the university will have campuses in the six sub-counties to enable students from the region to access education easily.

“The construction of Koitalel Samoei University will be completed soon. This great institution will have campuses in all the six sub-counties,” she said.

Speaking in Kobujoi, she said public participation has kicked off in her constituency, hinting that most locals support the plans.

“We will engage in public participation in that. Can we do it now? I know most of our constituents fully support the plans,” she stated.

Keitany also pointed out that Aldai Boys High School will be changed to Kaimosi University, urging residents to give at least 50 acres of land for the project.

“Aldai Boys will soon be changed into Kaimosi University. This will help our students have easy access to higher education and spur growth in our county. Please give 50 acres of land to make this plan a reality,” added Keitany.

The university stalled in 2018 despite laying the foundation stone the previous year, raising concerns among locals.

Last week, a contractor sued to stop the tendering process, claiming some laws had been breached. This move has thrown the institution’s September admission plans into uncertainty.
