KNUT sends condolences to victims of Hillside Endarasha fire

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has mourned the 17 learners who died when a fire broke out at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Kieni sub-sounty, Nyeri County.

In a statement released today, the union Secretary General Collins Oyuu equally wished quick recovery to the 14 students who sustained severe injuries and are currently at Mathari Mission and Nyeri County Referral Hospital receiving medical attention.

“It is unfortunate and regrettable that we can lose our children through such incidences today. We call upon calm among members of the public and the affected families as we implore on the security apparatus to conduct speedy investigations that will unearth the cause of fire.”

“We pray that the Lord strengthens the affected families through these difficult moments of grief and ask that the Lord rests the souls of the young ones in Eternal Peace. Amen!” Oyuu said.
