The incident in which Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu dished out employment letters at a funeral in Nyamira has sparked controversy in the education docket.
Following the incident which went viral a number of stakeholders have condemned the incident.
Over the weekend there was drama in Nyamira County when a youthful mourner knelt before the education cabinet secretary and was given an appointment letter.
During the rare incident, a dozen of other youths walked away with teachers’ service employment letters.
Kisumu City KNUT executive secretary David Obuon said the incident was a clear indication of nepotism.
Obuon said the TSC is an independent commission that should be left to do its work.
He said the hiring of staff is done at county levels and wondered why a whole CS should hijack the process.
The incident occurred during the burial of Elijah Osiemo who was the majority leader at the Nyamira county assembly.
