The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Mwingi Branch has maintained that teachers will not go to school on Monday when schools re-open for third term.
Executive Secretary Michael Munyasya Mbutu stated that all Mwingi teachers are ready to go on strike since the government is not honouring their demands, which include third party deductions, conversion of 46,000 to permanent and pensionable terms, and full implementation of the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Munyasya warned Mwingi parents not to release their children to school on Monday since there will be no teacher to attend to them, adding that they will go to every school to make sure that none has been opened and no teacher is in class.
