KNEC invites teachers to apply for KJSEA 2025 examiner training

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced the upcoming training for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) examiners.

According to a notice released on March 4, the training will take place during March and April 2025.

The training will begin online, followed by in-person sessions at designated residential venues. Shortlisted candidates will receive instructions on how to access the online training materials.

Qualified candidates will be informed about the location of the in-person training, which will be held at a strictly residential venue.

After training, KNEC will contract qualified examiners to mark the KJSEA assessments. Examiners will be selected based on the specific needs of each paper, following KNEC’s recruitment criteria.

KNEC also said the training fee is Ksh 10,500, payable only to shortlisted applicants. Payment instructions will be communicated through text messages (SMS) and the application portal.

Interested and qualified teachers are invited to apply for training in various subjects, including English (Composition and Literacy Analysis), Kiswahili (Insha and Introduction to Literature), Mathematics, Kenyan Sign Language (KSL), Integrated Science Practical, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture and Nutrition Practical, Agriculture, Home Science, and History.

Eligibility

To qualify for examiner training, candidates must meet several requirements.

They must be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject area at the examination level or higher and be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or the Public Service Commission.

Additionally, candidates must hold at least a Diploma in Education and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.

They should not be under any form of interdiction or disciplinary action by TSC or their employer.

A recommendation from their head of institution is also required.

Candidates must be 50 years old or younger, and tutors from Teacher Training Colleges and TVET institutions are especially encouraged to apply for Home Science.

Application Procedure

Interested applicants should visit the KNEC examiners’ portal at https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.If you already have a Cp2 account, log in with your username and password.

If you’ve forgotten your Cp2 password, click on the “reset password” button, enter your mobile number (in the format 2547********), and submit it to receive a new password.

Teachers without a Cp2 account should click “create account” and follow the instructions to set up login credentials.
