Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, has appointed Julius Aritho as the Acting Managing Director of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) until February 2025.
“The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education Dr. Julius Ogamba, has appointed Mr. Julius K. Aritho as the Acting Managing Director for a period of six (6) months beginning 1st September 2024 until the appointment of a substantive Managing Director,” a press release from KLB seen by Education News reads.
The appointment comes after the outgoing Managing Director, Victor Lomaria, successfully completed his term of service.
“The acting appointment follows the successful completion of the term of service of the outgoing Managing Director, Mr. Victor Lomaria. Mr. Aritho will oversee the operations of the Bureau until a substantive Managing Director is appointed,” reads the statement.
Speaking during the handover ceremony on August 29, 2024 at the KLB Board Room in South C, Board Chairperson Dr. Rispah Wepukhulu urged the staff and senior management to offer Aritho full cooperation in his new role.
She also urged the Bureau to maintain a strong sense of teamwork and ensure seamless operations during the transition period, reaffirming the Board’s commitment and support.

Lomaria expressed gratitude to the Board and top management for their collaboration and support during his tenure and encouraged everyone to support the acting Managing Director.
Aritho expressed appreciation to the CS for the opportunity and assured the Board of his dedication to the role and promised to work with all stakeholders to continue the Bureau’s progress.
Before his appointment, Julius Aritho served as the Internal Audit Manager and Finance Manager since joining the company in 2006. He earned a Master of Business Administration (Accounting Option) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option), both from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, Aritho is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and a Certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Internal Auditor.
