Kitui to get the highest number of JSS teachers in recent advertisement

Kitui County tops in number of Junior School (JS) teachers that will be employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

The county tops the list of counties that will receive the most teachers as it will get 1,796 slots, followed by Nakuru County which will receive 1,553 teachers and Kakamega with 1,500.

The counties which will receive the least number of teachers include Isiolo (158), Lamu (158), and Mombasa (261).

TSC had advertised 46,000 vacancies for the qualified teachers.

The commission will employ 6,000 teachers for primary school, 39,550 for JS and 450 for secondary school.

It indicated that the minimum requirement for primary school applicants is a P1 certificate while for JS and secondary, a diploma in education is required.

The applicants must also be registered teachers with the TSC.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates, and must not fill more than one Application for Employment Form or they will be disqualified.

Manual applications will not be considered and serving interns are required to apply in their current county/sub-county/work station.

Serving interns will only be required to present their identity cards during the verification process.

Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit their applications through the TSC website www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than October 7, 2024 midnight.
