Kitale School was crowned the champion of the NAKIHINYE athletics title for the first term after accumulating a total of 376 points during the event held at the Kitale School grounds on Saturday.
The second to fourth positions went to Hill School Eldoret, Nairobi School, and Moi Nyeri Complex School, who scored 240, 134, and 99 points, respectively.
Kitale School, under the leadership of Principal David Luganda, dominated in all categories: girls, boys, primary, and Junior Secondary (JS). In the primary girls’ athletics category, Kitale School scored 55 points, followed by Hill School with 33 points, Nairobi School with 14 points, and Moi Nyeri Complex School with 5 points.

In the primary boys’ category, Kitale School led with 46 points, followed by Nairobi School with 26 points, Moi Nyeri Complex School with 21 points, and Hill School with 14 points. In total, Kitale School led with 101 points, followed by Hill School with 47 points, Nairobi School with 40 points, and Moi Nyeri Complex School with 26 points.
In the JS girls’ category, Kitale School scored 129 points, Hill School scored 106 points, Nairobi School had 52 points, and Moi Nyeri Complex School finished last with 34 points. In the boys’ JS category, Kitale School earned 146 points, Hill School scored 87 points, Nairobi School had 60 points, and Moi Nyeri Complex School trailed with 28 points.

The NAKIHINYE title is an annual event involving four national primary schools: Nairobi School, Kitale School, Hill School, and Moi Nyeri Complex Primary School. The first term focuses on athletics and cross-country, while the second term includes football, volleyball, netball, handball, and chess.
In addition to the sports results, the exam results for the four schools are also announced, with grades six and nine being assessed. Despite not performing well in the field events, Moi Nyeri Complex School, under Principal Vincent Mwangi, excelled in the grade six exams.
