Kisumu county has allocated Ksh600 million towards development of the Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) sector.
CECM for Education, John Awiti, said the larger portion of the funds will be used for development of infrastructure while the rest will be used to recruit more ECDE teachers.
Awiti was speaking at the Kimberly Hills Academy in Kisumu West during the school’s Grade 1 graduation ceremony.

The Minister said that the county is committed to creating a conducive environment for ECDE learners with the imminent implementation of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Act 2023, pending the finalization of regulations by a dedicated committee.
