Kisii mourns philanthropic engineer who supported poor children

Residents of Bonchari Constituency have been thrown into mourning following the death of a philanthropic engineer Ronald Onsongo who inspired many children from the area to reach university and supported many from poor families to finish school.

Kisii County Woman Representative Doris Aburi said the engineer has left a big gap that will take long to fill.

“I knew him as a selfless man who supported children from poor homes to access quality education,” she said.

Condoling with the family, she said the late Onsogo came from a poor background but beat the odds to pursue engineering at the university having come through Kisii National School.

One of his former teachers Enock Nyangeri praised him as a focused man who was ready to uplift those who sought help. Until his demise, he was a civil servant.

“He was a brilliant young man who was happy working with positive minded people,” Nyangeri said.
