Kisii County Deputy Governor Robert Monda has denied claims that he pocketed money meant to pay Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) teachers.
Speaking during a fundraiser at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho Parish, he asked politicians opposing him to quit the malicious campaigns meant to taint his name.
He thanked Governor Simba Arati for constituting the Public Employment Board which will hasten the employment of ECDE teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.
“Ours is to support our teachers who mould our children and not manipulate them as some of you are insinuating,” he said.
His remarks were echoed by Senator Richard Onyonka who asked leaders to avoid divisive politics and find ways to push for infrastructure development in schools.
“Some of our old schools such as Cardinal Otunga and Kioge Girls are in a dilapidated state and require urgent facelifting,” he said.
Bobasi MP Innocent Obiri asked President Ruto to intervene in the quick repair of Nyamache bridge to connect Nyamache Secondary School to the main town.
