All fees for Form Four day scholars in Kipkelion East Constituency will be paid through bursaries from the NG-CDF.
This was said by the Member of Parliament Dr Joseph Cherorot who assured parents not to worry as the bursary fund will clear all the fees for the candidates studying in all the day schools in the constituency.
“In our NG-CDF, we have established a programme where fees are paid for all the candidates who study in all our schools in Kipkelion East. Also through a thorough vetting system we will pay fees for 6,000 for students in boarding schools who come from very vulnerable backgrounds. We also do vetting in order to assist those in institutions of higher learning,” he said.
The legislator who was speaking during the Kipkelion East Education Day held at the Sacred Hill Girls High asked the Ministry of Education (MoE) to employ teachers who have served under Board of Managements (BoM) for a long time saying they had proved their worth.

The Chief Guest was Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu who also launched a KSh50 million bursary for the constituency.
“I urge you as the CS for Education to consider giving first priority to teachers who have worked under BOMs for permanent and pensionable employment with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). At least they have proved their worth in the profession,” he added.
The MP who was accompanied by his Kipkelion West counterpart Hilary Kosgey called on the Government to classify some sections of the constituency as the hardship areas, saying the conditions warranted the same.
Cheroot and Kasey made passionate appeals for both the national and the County Government of Jericho to focus more attention on the two constituencies of Kipkelion East and Kipkelion West saying they lack behind in matters education due to historical imbalances.
“As the MP for this area and together with my brother Kosgey we will try our best to uplift the standard of education in the two constituencies. Our constituencies lack behind after being overlooked for a long time. Kipkelion needs more attention and funding from the county and the National Government,” he added.
He urged teachers to put more effort and improve the mean score of the constituency and also those of their individual schools adding the political leadership and the NG-CDF was ready to offer any assistance where necessary.
“We will assist you teachers in all areas where possible so that you focus all your attention to the development of our students.”
In in attendance was PS Agriculture Dr Kipronoh Rono who said success of any school depends on the cooperation of the key stakeholders including the BOM, teachers, parents and students.
CS Machogu said the Government had released the second tranche of Capitation to a tune of KSh30.5 billion for secondary school capitation and university students scholarships and added that schools will receive the funds next week.
He asked all stakeholders to utilize the funds properly and called for the improvement of the mean grade of the county as a whole.
