Kilifi county government has increased its bursaries and scholarships allocation from Ksh500 million to Ksh1 billion.
Speaking to Education News in his office in Kilifi town recently, CEC in charge of Education and ICT Ministry, Felkin Kaingu Ndena noted that 2,700 students had already benefitted from the scholarship.
He explained that the county government bursary had initially allocated Ksh350 million, while the county scholarship had Ksh150 million, adding up to Ksh500 million.

Kaingu observed that the additional Ksh500 million has increased the monies to Ksh1 billion, which will enable more bright students from poor backgrounds to pursue education.
The Minister assured parents that the county will continue prioritizing the education sector.
