Kenyenya Teachers Training College (TTC) Chief Principal Duncan Egessa is dead.
According to one of the staff members of the institution, the late Egessa was involved in a grisly road accident while he was heading home in Kakamega from his work station.
“He was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last on Saturday morning,” said the tutor.
Following the sad news, many students and parents flooded the college for confirmation.
One student narrated how the principal looked jovial on Friday when he addressed second year teacher trainees at the college.

“He looked happy and lively as he talked to us,” she said.
Egessa was the Director of Studies (DoS) in Migori TTC before he was transferred to Ugenya Teachers Training College, from where he was elevated to Chief Principal.
He was then posted to Kenyenya Teachers’ Training College three years ago.
One of the teachers Samuel Orangi, who has known the late Egessa for the last ten years, termed mourned him as an educator who loved education, his staff and students.
“He was a down to earth and liked mentoring anybody along their lines of academics,” said one of the Kisii County Drama and Music trainers Nixon Matwetwe.
During his tenure at Kenyenya Teachers Training College, the late Egessa steered the institution to excel in extra-curriculum, with the latest being the National Music Festival that was held in Eldoret City.
