Kenya will host East Africa games under the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) banner, to be held in Nakuru County.
This was revealed by Basic Education (PS) Dr Belio Kipsang, who also released the sports calendar for next year in the build up to the FEASSA extravaganza featuring all national champions of various sports from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda and Burundi.
In a letter outlining the 2025 co-curriculum calendar, Term One Secondary School Sports (under 18) nationals will be hosted by the Coast Region in Mombasa between 5th and 13th April, 2025, while the clinic will be done between 5th and 7th April. All teams will arrive on April 6 and opening ceremony will be on April 7 at Shanzu Teachers Training College.
Action days will be from April 8-12 to be concluded with a closing ceremony on April 12 at Shanzu TTC. Sporting activities will include Rugby 15s, Athletics, Basketball 5×5, Hockey, Handball, Cross-Country and swimming.
Secondary School Special School Sports Term One will be held in the same venue between 5th and 13th April, with the clinic being between April 5 and 6. All teams will arrive for the opening ceremony on April 7 at Shanzu TTC before the action from April 8-12 and closing on April 12.
The Primary School Sports (under 12) Term One will be held in the same venue between 5th and 12th of April after the April 5 and 6 clinic. Team arrivals are planned for April 6 for the opening ceremony on April 7 at Shanzu TTC and thereafter action will be between April 8-11. The closing ceremony is on April 11 at NYS Grounds, Likoni.
The sporting activities for primary schools (under 12) include Athletics, Kids Athletics, Gymnastics and Cross-Country.

The Primary School Special School Athletics Term One will be between April 5 and 12, 2025. Schedules are as follows: Clinics – April 5 – 6, teams arrival – April 6, opening ceremony April 7 at Shanzu TTC, action days – April 8 – 11, and closing date April 11 at Ziwani School for the Deaf.
Junior Schools Sports (Under 15) Term One April 5 – 12 as follows: Clinics April 5 – 6, teams arrival – April 6, opening ceremony April 7 at Shanzu TTC, action day April 8 – 11, closing date April 11 at NYS Grounds Likoni.
JSS Sporting activities will include Athletics, Cross Country, Basket Ball 5×5, Rugby 7’s and Swimming.
National Drama and Film Festival Term One will be held between April 7 and 19 in Nakuru’s Afraha High School. Teams will report on April 7 for the opening ceremony on April 8 at Afraha High School and the action day will be between April 8 – 14. Gala concert is scheduled for April 15 – 16 and the routine State Concert April 18.
Kenya Science and Engineering Fair Term One will be held between April 6 and 12 in Eastern Region, Embu County, Kangaru High School. Arrival date is April 6, Clinic April 6, opening ceremony April 7 at Kangaru High School, and action day April 8-11.
Kenya Teachers Training Colleges Sports Term One will be held on March 23 to April 4 in Western Region, Bungoma County in Kibabii Diploma TTC. Clinics March 23/24, arrival March 23, opening ceremony March 24 at Kibabii TTC, action days March 25 to April 3 while closing ceremony will be on April 3.
Term Two Ball Games for Secondary Schools; Special Secondary School, Junior Schools, Primary Schools and Special Primary School will be held between July 26 to August 3 in Rift Valley Region, Nakuru County. Clinics July 26 to July 27, arrival July 27, and opening ceremony July 28 at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru City.
Secondary School Sports(under 18) Nakuru High, Secondary Special School Sports Kirobon High School, Junior School Ballgames Njoro High School, Primary School Ballgames Njoro High School, Special Primary School Ballgames Jomo Kenyatta High School.
Kenya Music Festival will be held from August 1 -14 in Eastern Region, Meru County at Meru School and Kaaga Girls High School. Arrival date August 1, opening ceremony August 2 at Meru School, action day August 2 – 10, Gala concert August 11 – 12, State Concert August 13.
The East Africa Music, Dance and Drama will be held in Tanzania, Arusha between August 15 and 25, arrival date August 16, and action days August 18 – 23.
