The Ministry of Education, through the Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI), will next month train Boards of Management (BOM) committee members on Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) operations.
According to a memo to all acting JSS principals, four participants from the JSS Sub-Committee will
attend the training which is scheduled for July 31, 2023, to August 4, 2023, with the venues to be
communicated in each of the 47 counties.
The chairperson of the JSS Sub-Committee, one JSS teacher, the parents’ association
representative and the JSS acting principal.
Additionally, every JSS public primary school will remit a total of Ksh12, 000 whereby; Ksh8,
500 to cater for tuition, stationery, and certification.
The remaining Ksh3, 500 will cater for the training logistics for the participants including 10
o’clock tea, snacks, and water, lunch, and water.
All schools are requested to make payment through their Sub County Kenya Primary Schools
Head Teachers Association (KEPSHA) Account.
Thereafter, the money shall be submitted in one cheque to KEMI’S National Bank Account or its
Equity Bank account.
“Every school will facilitate traveling of the BOM members to the training venues,” stated the
circular dated July 5, 2023.
The deadline for submission of the money to respective Sub-County KEPSHA accounts will be
Friday 21st July 2023.
